WasteX is a digital platform that verifies waste disposal, enables recycling, and delivers audit-ready ESG records. We verify that you have the correct permits for your waste generation, connect waste generators with licensed waste disposal companies and recyclers, and capture every transfer as a digital, signed and traceable record.

We do not take ownership of any waste. Contracts are directly between generators and service providers on the platform. WasteX provides the verification, documentation, and reporting function that makes these transactions provable and reportable.

Why we exist

Across the Caribbean and LATAM, waste generators are legally responsible for the waste they produce, even when third parties handle it. National regulations increasingly require manifests, permits, and recordkeeping for several years. The tools to manage these records are fragmented and paper-based, and there is limited visibility on what actually happens to the waste once it leaves the gate. Manhours are wasted entering the same data multiple times and collating information across multiple sources and contractors.

Recycling fails for the same reason. Most recycling projects collapse not because there is no demand for the output, but because the supply of feedstock is unpredictable or expensive to source. A recycler cannot build a business on waste streams they cannot trust.

WasteX exists to fix both problems with the same infrastructure. Compliance creates the data. That data unlocks recycling at scale.

Backed by IDB and GEF

WasteX is supported under Project TT-G1008, an Inter-American Development Bank initiative funded as part of a larger IDB / Global Environment Facility (GEF) grant to enable the circular economy in Trinidad & Tobago. The project demonstrates, at scale, the economic and environmental viability of circular waste solutions in small island developing states, and provides a regional template for the broader Caribbean and LATAM rollout.

Industry implementation: industrial customer

WasteX’s flagship implementation is in partnership with a large industrial customer, who is commissioning the Caribbean’s largest waste oil recycling facility. The facility will recover waste lubricating oils which are currently dumped, burned, or exported and reprocess them into new base oils suitable for industrial reuse locally.

WasteX provides the digital infrastructure: verified pickups, signed manifests, chain-of-custody records, and readily exportable landfill diversion data. The result is a fully documented recycling stream tracked from the generator’s gate to the recycler’s intake, which meets statutory reporting requirements and supports corporate ESG disclosures.

Built for the Caribbean and LATAM

WasteX is launching first in Trinidad & Tobago, in line with the IDB's circular economy programme. Regional expansion across the Caribbean and Latin America is planned, prioritising markets where statutory waste reporting and ESG disclosure pressures are growing fastest.
